Michu amazed by ‘incredible’ Robin van Persie after Man United thrashing

Michu heaped praise on Robin van Persie after the Dutch forward was the star of the show as Manchester United thrashed Swansea 4-1 in their Premier League opener.

Van Persie scored two goals in a man-of-the-match display as United got their Premier League title defence up and running in style at the Liberty Stadium.

The 30-year-old finished as the top scorer in the Premier League last season after netting 26 goals as United cantered to their 20th top-flight crown.

And Michu is convinced that Van Persie is the best striker in the world in his current rich vein of form.

“He had two chances and he scored two goals, but that is why Manchester United are fighting for the championship,” Michu said.

“For me, to be honest, he is the best striker in the world. He had no clear chances in this game and it is just incredible how he ended up with two goals. It stops with him, he is the best.

“I don’t know how many goals he will score this season. A hundred, maybe a thousand! One thing is for sure, he is going to score a lot.”
