Middlesbrough 0 Hull City 2: Steve Bruce hails his side's comfortable win which booked their place in the FA Cup fourth-round draw
Steve Bruce hailed Hull City’s “comfortable” win after the Tigers dumped Middlesbrough out of the FA Cup at the third-round stage.
The Hull manager was forced to call on his out-of-favour strikers Aaron McLean and Nick Proschwitz to cover the Premier League side’s injury crisis.
It turned out to be comfortable from the start

And McLean opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a close-range finish before Proschwitz netted midway through the second half at the Riverside Stadium.
“Considering the problems we have had with illness it was hard to put a team together and we made nine changes but it turned out to be comfortable from the start, it turned out really well,” said Bruce.
Bruce heaped praise on Hull’s man-of-the-match George Boyd after the midfielder’s starring performance against Boro.
“I thought his [Boyd’s] performance was excellent and it was good to see Quinn back but overall it was a very comfortable afternoon which, in a cup tie, we will always take,” he added.
“It just shows how far we have come in terms of the squad, and when you get in the Premier League that enables you to strengthen and our aim is to stay, and everything gets bigger and better as you go on and you look to improve your squad.”
