Mikel Arteta: People have been waiting for Arsenal to lose
Mikel Arteta feels Arsenal sent out a "very good message" to the rest of the Premier League with their 2-0 win over Liverpool

Mikel Arteta felt Arsenal sent out a “very good message” to the rest of the Premier League with their 2-0 win over Liverpool on Saturday.
Goals from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey wrapped up a convincing win for Arsene Wenger’s men as the north London side moved five points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Arsenal have not lost a league game since their opening-day defeat by Aston Villa back in August – and Arteta is backing the Gunners to stretch their fine form into November.
“For us today was a great day,” said Arteta. “We want to stay where we are and we will make it difficult for the rest.
“We played a really good team. They have been on fire in the past couple of weeks. It was a great test to see where we are and we showed that we are at least as good as them.
“We are tested every week. People have been waiting for us to lose. But we showed today the desire that we have to stay we are.
“I feel this is a very good message. We wanted to get the points at home. But we know there is still a long way to go.”
Arsenal travel to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday, before Sunday’s clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
