Man United ready to pay second summer signing £350,000 a week – report
Manchester United are ready to offer Alvaro Morata a five-year contract worth £350,000 a week, say reports
Manchester United have offered Alvaro Morata a five-year contract worth around £350,000 a week, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the Red Devils have already agreed personal terms with the Spanish forward as Manchester United look to clinch their second summer signing after the arrival of defender Victor Lindelof last week.
The same story claims that Manchester United are yet to agree a fee with Real Madrid for the striker, and that the Red Devils have had an opening bid of £65m rejected by the Spanish club.
The article reports that the transfer of Morata could end up costing Manchester United as much as £180m in transfer fees and wages.
Real Madrid are said to be holding out for a fee closer to £90m for the 24-year-old striker.
Despite all of the speculation linking Morata with a move to Manchester United in recent days, there is yet to be any official comment from either club about the proposed transfer.
Jose Mourinho is thought to be keen to bolster his attacking options at Old Trafford this summer as he prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season.
