Journalist claims Man United deal for 24-year-old top striker is on
Tancredi Palmeri suggests that Manchester United are still very much in the running to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid this summer

Manchester United are still in the hunt to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid this summer, according to journalist Tancredi Palmeri.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a bid to bring the 24-year-old Spain international to Old Trafford in recent days as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his attacking options at the club.
However, despite all of the speculation, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez said earlier this week that the Spanish club were yet to receive any official offers for any of their players.
But Italian journalist Palmeri feels that Perez was bending the truth with those remarks and hinted that a deal for Morata to move to Old Trafford could yet still materialise.
Asked by one Twitter user whether Perez was misrepresenting the truth when saying that Manchester United had not bid for Morata, Palmeri simply replied: “Yes, he was misrepresenting truth.”
Morata’s future has been a source of speculation in recent days because of his lack of playing time at Real Madrid last season.
The Spanish forward returned to the Bernabeu last summer but only started 14 La Liga games for Los Blancos.
