Alvaro Morata has poured cold water on the speculation linking Manchester United with a summer swoop for the striker and has again insisted that he wants to stay at Real Madrid.

The Real Madrid forward’s future has been a source of speculation this week and Manchester United have been linked with a bid for the forward.

Indeed, the Red Devils were said to have had an initial offer for the 24-year-old rejected by Real Madrid this week.

Morata has also been touted as a possible target for Chelsea in the past, and his future continues to be mentioned in the media.

However, the player himself has now moved to play down suggestions that he could leave Real Madrid this summer by underlining his commitment to the La Liga side.

“I want to be playing and to be important to the squad, particularly next year when there is the World Cup,” Morata is quoted as saying by Metro.

“But I want to fight for my place here, I would be crazy to leave Real Madrid.

“It’s hard to imagine going back to Italy, despite my experience in Serie A being extraordinary. I would like to stay at Real Madrid, and the only club for me in Italy are Juventus.”

Morata’s future has been a source of speculation in recent days due to his lack of playing time at Real Madrid last season.
