Newcastle 2 Chelsea 1: We lost the way I like to lose, says Jose Mourinho
Jose Mourinho says his Chelsea side deserved at least a point
Jose Mourinho declared that Chelsea lost the way the manager likes to lose after the Blues’s 14-game unbeaten run came to an end at Newcastle United.
The Premier League leaders were missing suspended Nemanja Matic, and the Magpies took advantage as the home side threatened to hit the visitors on the counter-attack.
A point was the minimum we deserved

Second-half substitute Papiss Cisse broke the deadlock within four minutes of his introduction before the Senegal international bagged his second in the 78th minute.
Chelsea striker Didier Drogba halved the deficit but couldn’t find a winner, despite Mourinho’s claims that the leaders deserved “at least a point”.
“My team lost the way I like to lose which is to give everything and being unlucky,” Mourinho told BBC Sport.
“Only one team played to win. After the second goal the team lost their emotional balance. A point was the minimum we deserved.”
Mourinho added that Chelsea could have recieved 20 minutes of injury time due to the time-wasting tactics of Newcastle’s staff and supporters.
“There could have been 20 minutes stoppage time but the situation would have been the same because things were happening outside the four lines that the referee couldn’t control,” Mourinho continued.
“The referee can’t punish the ball boy who disappeared with the ball, the referee couldn’t punish the people in the crowd who kept the ball. I’m not obsessed with records and statistics, that’s not for me, I want to win the league.”
