Newcastle transfers: Alan Pardew is remaining tight-lipped on the possibility of securing Loic Remy on a permanent deal

Alan Pardew is remaining tight-lipped on Loic Remy’s long-term Newcastle United future.
The France international has scored eight goals in 10 Premier League appearances after moving to the Magpies on a season-long loan from Queens Park Rangers.
Newcastle have been linked with a permanent £10m deal for the 26-year-old forward, but Magpies manager Pardew is refusing to fuel speculation.
“I think Loic is going to be an ongoing thing,” Pardew said in the Northern Echo.
“We are probably going to be talking about that for a long, long time. I don’t want to start it now.”
Meanwhile, Remy insists Newcastle aren’t thinking about securing a Champions League spot despite being two points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
“For the moment, we just carry on and play good.
“We go game after game and we’ll try to win a lot of games. At the end of the season, we can maybe do the Champions League.
“At the moment, we are not focused on that. But we know we have the quality and that we can do it. I am not surprised by the quality of this team.”
