John Barnes previews Newcastle v Liverpool FC
Liverpool FC legend John Barnes has some advice for Jurgen Klopp's side ahead of their trip to Newcastle on Saturday night

John Barnes has warned Liverpool FC that they can’t afford to slip up at Newcastle even if it appears Manchester City have one hand on the Premier League trophy already.
The Reds have the chance to put the defending Premier League champions under pressure by winning against Newcastle at St James’ Park on Saturday night.
If Liverpool FC can beat their former manager Rafael Benitez and his Newcastle side, the Reds will go top for at least 48 hours before Manchester City play on Monday.
Pep Guardiola’s men will also face a former Liverpool FC boss in the shape of Brendan Rodgers when Leicester City make the trip to The Etihad.
The Foxes were 3-0 winners against Arsenal in their last Premier League fixture at the King Power Stadium, but Manchester City will be a different proposition.
Liverpool FC will start the Premier League weekend in second place and a point behind Manchester City after the Citizens were 1-0 winners against Burnley last weekend.
Former Liverpool FC midfielder Barnes is hopeful that the Reds will focus on their clash against Newcastle and avoid any potential distractions.
“It’s not likely City will slip up now,” said Barnes, speaking exclusively to BonusCodeBets.co.uk.
“They’re facing Leicester but they should win, and against Brighton they’re expected to win. It’s not going to be easy for Liverpool either, playing away at Newcastle and at home against Wolves. But all Liverpool can do is concentrate on their own game and hope Man City slip up.”
Liverpool FC lost 3-0 to La Liga giants FC Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final at Camp Nou on Wednesday night.
