N’Golo Kante will never be a boss, claims Chelsea legend
Frank Leboeuf delivers his verdict on what he has seen from N'Golo Kante at Chelsea this season

N’Golo Kante does not have the attributes needed to be a leader at Chelsea, according to former Blues star Frank Leboeuf.
The French midfielder has been one of the Premier League’s top performing players this season following his arrival at the club from Leicester City last summer.
Kante earned plenty of new admirers last season as he helped Leicester City win the Premier League title under Claudio Ranieri.
The midfielder has continued his fine displays since joining Chelsea and has helped Antonio Conte’s men build a 10-point lead at the top of the table.
Kante has been touted as a potential candidate to win the PFA player of the year award this season.
But although Leboeuf has been impressed by Kante’s performances this term, he doesn’t feel that he has the required skills to be a leader on the pitch.
Speaking in an interview with RMC, Leboeuf said: “Is he a ‘boss’ at heart? I don’t think so.
“He’s an extraordinary soldier, a warrior, but he doesn’t have the personality nor the stature of a leader.
“At Chelsea, in the middle of the stars, he’s the indispensable man and Conte counts on him, but he never makes him the boss. He doesn’t have the game of a boss.
“He’s not a Zinedine Zidane. This boy is indispensable to Chelsea, but he’s not the boss, because he doesn’t speak easily, he’s shy, he doesn’t have the stature.
“Even technically he’s not a leader in the team’s play. He’s a guy who’ll win back 800,000 balls a game.”
