Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gives his verdict on ‘brave’ new Man United signing
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been impressed with the bravery of new Man United signing Daniel James

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he has been impressed with Daniel James’ progress during Manchester United’s tour of Australia and Japan.
The Wales international became the first signing of the Solskjaer era at Manchester United earlier this summer.
The Red Devils signed the 21-year-old in an £18m deal from Championship outfit Swansea City in June.
James was immediately thrown into the first-team for their pre-season games in Australia and Japan.
The Welsh midfielder has impressed with speed and work-rate down the wing after Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs had endorsed his compatriot ahead of his move.
James has stood up to the physical tests presented by opponents such as Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur during their pre-season games in Australian and Asia.
Speaking at his media conference on Monday, Manchester United manager Solskjaer delivered his verdict on James’ performances following his summer move from England’s second tier.
“Dan is so quick and it’s not easy to time tackles against him,” Solskjaer said.
“I can understand why players mistime tackles against him. He’s a brave little boy and he jumps, he’s taken a few knocks over the tour but as an old man I like to see tackles.
“There’s no rolling about, or diving or feigning. If he stays down he’s injured but he gets up when he’s just hurt.”
James’ arrival has added some much-needed pace to the Manchester United side in wide position this season.
The Red Devils have also signed Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka in a £50m deal earlier this month.
Manchester United will kick off the new Premier League season with a clash against Chelsea FC at Old Trafford on 11 August.
The Red Devils haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013.
