Özil, Friedel & more: Twitter reacts as Holland beat Mexico
Mesut Özil and Brad Friedel tweet their thoughts after Holland come from behind to beat Mexico 2-1 to reach last eight

Klaas-Jan Hunterlaar scored an injury-time penalty to help Holland come from behind and beat Mexico 2-1 to book their place in World Cup last eight.
Wesley Sneijder cancelled out Giovani dos Santos’s 48th-minute opener with two minutes of normal time remaining, before Hunterlaar converted from the spot after Rafael Marquez brought down Arjen Robben.
Holland’s dramatic comeback sparked a flurry of Twitter activity, and here is a selection of our favourite reaction from the professionals, past and present, in chronological order.
Former USA defender Alexi Lalas (@AlexiLalas) tweets to celebrate Dirk Kuyt’s 100th Oranje cap: “So it’s a Dirk Kuyt day? Wonderful.”
Ex-Chelsea midfielder Jody Morris (@morriskid) could have a future in tarot cards: “If Robben gets a one on one with Marquez with any type of room it’s surely curtains”

Morris (@morriskid) would later rue this tweet, though: “Wesley has been more like Snipes in this World Cup.. #Passenger57”

Former Celtic striker John Hartson (@JohnHartson10) seems to doubt Louis van Gaal has the power to pull off comebacks, like Sir Alex Ferguson: “Let’s see what the genius himself Louis van gaal can do now.. No magic wand!!”
Ex-Southampton striker James Beattie (@1jamesbeattie) talks us through Sneijder’s equaliser: “Didn’t try and lash it. Didn’t look for his name on the scoreboard before he shot. Unreal technique at a massively crucial time in the game.”
