Paul Merson has a warning for Chelsea FC about Eden Hazard
Paul Merson says Chelsea FC can ill afford to lose Eden Hazard following his fine form for Chelsea FC
Paul Merson has warned Chelsea FC that they would struggle without Eden Hazard in their team.
The Belgian playmaker’s situation at Stamford Bridge was a constant source of speculation during the summer transfer window as he was linked with a transfer to Real Madrid.
However, despite the speculation, the 27-year-old has ended up staying at Stamford Bridge for this season and he will be looking to help Chelsea FC enjoy a successful campaign under Maurizio Sarri.
Hazard netted Chelsea FC’s second goal as the Blues notched up a 2-0 win over Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday to maintain their 100 per cent start to the season.
Now, Arsenal legend Merson has talked up the importance Hazard has in this current Chelsea FC team so far this season.
Speaking to Sky Sports News on Saturday, Merson said: You take him out of the team and I think they would struggle.
“Chelsea have good players but everything goes through Hazard. They give him the ball and wait for him to do something.
“He would make a difference to Real Madrid and make them a much better team. Chelsea must be breathing a big sigh of relief that he is still there.”
Chelsea FC are currently joint top of the Premier League table after having won all four of their first four games under Sarri.
The Blues will return to top flight action after the international break when they take on Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge later this month.
