Paul Merson makes blunt transfer prediction about Arsenal and Alexis Sanchez
The former Arsenal midfielder is backing Alexis Sanchez to leave in the summer if the forward doesn't sign a new deal

Paul Merson believes Arsenal will sell Alexis Sanchez in the summer transfer window if the forward fails to sign a new contract at The Emirates.
The Chile international has 15 months remaining on his current Arsenal deal but both parties have failed to reach an agreement over a new contract extension.
Wenger controversially omitted Sanchez from the Arsenal starting line-up for the Gunners 3-1 loss to top-four rivals Liverpool at Anfield last month.
Sanchez spoke about his plans to remain in the English capital last week, adding that he will see out his current Arsenal deal which expires at the end of the 2017-18 season.
The 28-year-old centre-forward has scored 18 times and has made nine assists in 27 appearances in the Premier League this term.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ about the current Sanchez saga, former Arsenal midfielder Merson tipped the Chile star to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer if a new contract isn’t agreed.
“Arsene Wenger can say Alexis Sanchez is going nowhere but if he doesn’t sign a new contract in the summer, there’s no way Arsenal are swallowing £50m and he can leave next summer for free. No chance. That’s not how Arsenal works,” Merson said.
