Paul Merson is backing Manchester City to retain the Premier League title despite praising Liverpool FC’s business in the transfer window.
The Reds have signed AS Monaco star Fabinho, RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, Stoke City playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri and AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool FC’s summer additions have prompted some pundits to tip the Reds to win their first Premier League title under former Borussia Dortmund head coach Jurgen Klopp.
The 18-time English champions finished 25 points behind Premier League champions Manchester City last season to leave the Reds with a big points deficit to make up.

The Reds have finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014 under Gerard Houllier, Rafael Benitez and Brendan Rodgers in the Premier League era.
