Paul Scholes: What I really think about Man United signing’s debut
The Man United legend delivers his verdict on Diogo Dalot's debut in Wednesday night's 3-0 win over Young Boys

Paul Scholes has heaped praise on Diogo Dalot for his encouraging debut in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Young Boys in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils signed Dalot in a surprise £17m deal from Portuguese giants FC Porto in the 2018 summer transfer window to provide cover for Antonio Valencia at right-back.
The 19-year-old made a mere eight appearances for FC Porto before he linked up with Portuguese head coach Jose Mourinho at the 20-time English champions.
Dalot’s Manchester United debut was a success as the versatile defender helped the Red Devils to ease to a 3-0 win against Young Boys in Switzerland mid-week.
The teenager completed 85 per cent of his attempted passes, finished with two successful dribbles and made one tackle during the Champions League clash.
Former Manchester United midfielder Scholes believes Dalot has made a promising start to his Red Devils career.
“I think it’s a really good start from him,” Scholes told BT Sport. “Going forward he looks fantastic. He looks quick enough. It’s a great start.”
Manchester United haven’t won the Champions League crown since 2008 when Sir Alex Ferguson’s side beat Chelsea FC on penalties in Moscow.
The Red Devils lost to FC Barcelona in the Champions League final in 2009 and 2011 to miss out on further European glory.
The 20-time English champions will welcome promoted side Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
