Petr Cech: Luis Suárez ‘always does little fouls and pushes’
Petr Cech claims Luis Suárez "always does little fouls and pushes" on opposition defenders after Liverpool hold Chelsea
Petr Cech conceded that he did not see Luis Suárez’s apparent bite on Branislav Ivanovic but said that the Liverpool striker “always does little fouls and pushes” on opposition defenders.
The Liverpool striker was pictured appearing to sink his teeth into the Chelsea defender in the second half of the 2-2 draw at Anfield, before the Uruguayan netted a late equaliser for the Reds.
“I didn’t see it at the time but people have told me which is surprising,” Cech is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. “Suárez always does little fouls and pushes. I saw Branislav’s reaction and he was not happy at all.
“Every time Suárez is close he pushes defenders around, I was complaining to the referee about it.”
Oscar had headed Chelsea into a first-half lead on Merseyside, but substitute Daniel Sturridge equalised shortly after half-time when he poked home Suárez’s pass.
Chelsea again went in front when Eden Hazard dispatched his penalty after Suárez handled a cross in the box.
But the Liverpool striker had the final say when he pounced on Sturridge’s pass to net his 23rd league goal of the season in the 97th minute at Anfield.
