Theo Walcott has revealed his excitement at Arsenal’s signing of Alexis Sánchez, posing with the Chilean’s shirt during a signing session on Friday.

The Gunners wrapped up a £35m deal to sign the 25-year-old from Barcelona on Thursday after intense speculation linking the winger with a move to Emirates Stadium.

And Walcott posted the picture above on his Instagram account, along with the message: “I think this is going to be a popular shirt this season! #SanchezSigns #COYG”

Walcott had already taken to his Twitter account on Thursday night following the news of Sánchez’s arrival, writing: “What a Signing!!!!! Cannot wait and looking forward to playing with Alexis Sanchez!!!!! #COYG”

Meanwhile, Sánchez himself is looking forward to testing himself in the Premier League next season.

“I feel that playing in England will be perhaps the most challenging step I’ve ever taken in my football career,” Sánchez told Arsenal Player.

“There are plenty of competitive teams in the league and I will do my best sincerely to win as much as possible.

“I always liked English football and of course I enjoyed watching it.”
