It has been a good week for Mario Balotelli after the Italy striker was crowned Liverpool’s ping-pong champion days after scoring his first Reds goal.
The 24-year-old started the process of justifying his £16m price tag by scoring the opener as Liverpool beat Ludogorets in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Balotelli, who joined from AC Milan last month, produced a neat turn and clinical finish before Steven Gerrard netted a late winner from the spot to seal a dramatic 2-1 victory at Anfield..
On Wednesday, Liverpool centre-half Dejan Lovren revealed that he would have been a good tennis player, perhaps a rival for his fellow Croatian and US Open champion Marin Cilic.
And Balotelli appears to have a future in ping-pong if his Liverpool career shouldn’t work out, uploading a photo of team-mate Raheem Sterling appearing to search for a ball under the table after a defeat.
“@31sterling !!!!! Loool ops! Mario still the Champion in ping pong!” Balotelli posted on Instagram.
Balotelli has scored one goal in three appearances for Liverpool in all competitions following his move from Milan.
