Daley Blind has expressed his satisfaction with a “very nice” Manchester United debut.
The Netherlands international was instrumental as the Red Devils ran out comfortable 4-0 winners against west London side Queens Park Rangers at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Angel di Maria opened the scoring with a curling free-kick before his fellow summer signing Ander Herrera doubled the home side’s advantage in the 36th minute.
United captain Wayne Rooney scored his second goal of the season shortly before half-time and Juan Mata sealed an emphatic win with a close-range finish in the 58th minute.
Whilst Blind didn’t get among the goals on his Old Trafford debut, the 24-year-old received plenty of plaudits for an influential performance in the heart of United’s midfield.
And the former Ajax defender, who was named as Dutch football of the year last season, took to Instagram to express his delight at a winning start to his United career.
“A very nice debut a top atmosphere and a great team performance #MUFC #Theatreofdreams” Blind posted on Instagram.
Blind signed a four-year deal with United after completing a £14m switch to the 20-time English champions from Ajax on the final day of the summer transfer window.
