Pundit sends warning to Liverpool about loss of momentum
Alan Smith believes Liverpool have lost vital momentum in the top-four race ahead of Monday's clash at Watford

Liverpool have lost vital momentum in the top-four race ahead of their trip to Watford, according to Arsenal legend Alan Smith.
The Reds looked on course to ease to a Champions League spot for the first time in two seasons after impressive successive Premier League wins on the road at Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion.
However, Jurgen Klopp’s men suffered a surprise 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace at Anfield last weekend, with Christian Benteke scoring either side of half-time to cancel out Philippe Coutinho’s free-kick.
Liverpool are in third place in the Premier League table but level on points with Manchester City, with Manchester United a further point back.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ about Liverpool’s form ahead of their trip to Watford on Monday night, former Arsenal striker Smith said:
“I thought that poor record would change with the carrot of a top-four place. It’s got to change – and pretty quickly!
“The Palace result will really knock them back… That old word ‘momentum’. It’s there for them but Liverpool have lost a bit after that Palace result.”
