Pundit: This Liverpool star will leave in the summer

Phil Babb is tipping Daniel Sturridge to leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

The England striker has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the Liverpool first team this season and has also been hampered by injury.

Indeed, the 27-year-old has only managed to make five starts in the Premier League for Liverpool this season and has scored just two goals in the top flight this term.

His lack of playing time at Anfield this season could well spark some speculation that he is set to leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

And former Liverpool man Babb is tipping Sturridge to leave the Merseyside club this summer.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Babb said: “I think he’s coming to the end of his tenure at Liverpool.

“Klopp wants a different type of striker – someone he can rely on from a physical point of view.

“He’s a phenomenal talent around the goal and in the penalty box. But he’s been laden with injuries season after season.

“He hasn’t played enough games but his goals to games ratio is fantastic.”

Liverpool are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table as they chase Champions League qualification in Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge at Anfield.

The Reds played out a 1-1 draw with Manchester City at The Etihad last Sunday.
