Harry Redknapp slammed referee Chris Foy’s “poor” performance after Queens Park Rangers slumped to defeat by West Bromwich Albion.

Baggies captain Chris Brunt made the breakthrough with a long-range strike that beat Hoops goalkeeper Rob Green in the 29th minute.

It got worse for Redknapp’s men when Green fumbled a looping cross into his own net under pressure from Marc Antoine-Fortune to double West Brom’s lead early in the second half.

QPR did manage to offer some resistance when Djibril Cisse chipped his finish over Baggies goalkeeper Ben Foster with 22 minutes remaining.

But Steve Clarke’s men clung on to condemn the Hoops to their 11th loss of the campaign and drop them down to the bottom of the Premier League table.

“We had two terrible decisions that have cost us dearly,” Redknapp told BBC Sport.

“It was a foul [for the second goal], the fella’s [Marc Antoine-Fortune] backing him [Robert Green] into the goal. He’s got no intention of playing the ball. He couldn’t get a punch on the ball.

“It’s a blatant foul. And at the end it’s a blatant penalty. Ridgewell’s got his hands up. They are scandalous decisions. I can’t do nothing about it. It’s just poor refereeing.

“I had him [referee Chris Foy] at Stoke last year when I was Tottenham manager and he let three penalties go so what’s the point in talking to him?

“I can’t do anything about it. It’s just poor refereeing. We battered them in the last 20 minutes, we just couldn’t get the equaliser.”
