QPR’s Andros Townsend: We never let our heads drop despite position
Queens Park Rangers midfielder Andros Townsend says the Hoops never let their heads drop despite their predicament

Andros Townsend has praised Queens Park Rangers for never letting their heads drop after the Hoops secured an emphatic 3-1 win against Sunderland on Saturday.
The Black Cats took a first-half lead through Steven Fletcher before Loic Remy levelled at Loftus Road in the 30th minute.
Townsend, who join the Hoops on loan in January, scored a spectacular long-range strike to put QPR ahead midway through the second period, before Jermaine Jenas secured three points.
The R’s remain bottom of the Premier League but closed the gap on Reading and Wigan, while 17th-placed Aston Villa are four points ahead of Redknapp’s men.
“I don’t think we won in my first three games here, but our heads didn’t drop because we knew how good we are as a team in terms of the players we’ve got,” Townsend said.
“We knew once we got that first win we could go on a run. We’ve got two wins now and hopefully we can carry on doing that.
“We’ve got massive six-pointers and that is why our heads didn’t go down.
“We keep saying each game is a massive game and that it is a must-win but as a team we are relishing that.
“We know we can’t drop points now and we’re relishing that. You could see that against Sunderland and last week.”
