Queens Park Rangers’ season has been “nothing short of a disaster”, according to the club’s chairman Tony Fernandes.

The Hoops made 12 signings during the summer transfer window, including big names such as Julio Cesar and Esteban Granero, prompting Mark Hughes to talk about a possible top-half finish.

But the Welshman was replaced by Harry Redknapp in November after failing to win a single Premier League game and with the club bottom of the Premier League.

Since taking charge, the former Spurs boss has been unable to help QPR pick up three points, with the Hoops now eight points adrift of 17th-placed Wigan Athletic.

“Holiday today in Malaysia. Went early Xmas shopping. But all I want is three points. Hehehehe,” Fernandes wrote on Twitter.

“It has been nothing short of a disaster. It is not where we are. But boy we put so much effort into this. Good honest effort.

“Keep your spirits up. Laughing, smiling and being positive helps. Won’t leave any stone unturned to try fix this. Tough as it is.

“Hopefully Santa gives us some early presents.”
