QPR boss Mark Hughes hints at further signings for Hoops
Mark Hughes hints he could make further signings for Queens Park Rangers this summer as he looks to fine-tune his squad

Mark Hughes has hinted he is still looking to add to his Queens Park Rangers squad before the transfer window closes.
The Hoops has been a hive of activity this summer, with Rob Green, Ryan Nelsen, Fabio Da Silva, Park Ji-Sung, Samba Diakite and Andy Johnson all moving to Loftus Road.
The 48-year-old says there is still plenty of business to be done but also admitted that some fringe players will have to leave the club as he looks to settle on a 25-man squad for the Premier League campaign.
“A lot of players left the club in the summer and of course we’ve signed quite a few as well, but the balance of the squad still isn’t quite right,” Hughes told QPR’s website.
“We’re looking at that and hopefully by the time the 25-man squad is named we’ll have the right balance and quality in place to be successful here.
“The process is still on-going in terms of players – there are still a number of weeks to go until the transfer window closes.
“If we’re fortunate enough to bring a few players in to add to the quality we’ve already got then that’s great, but some players will have to leave as well.
“There are a lot of names flying around – as there always are at this stage of the season.
“But we prefer to get the job done and get the business concluded in-house instead of talking about specific targets.”
Hughes conceded that QPR’s busy summer of transfer activity will have inevitably led to heightened expectations amongst the club’s supporters, but the former Manchester City boss insists he will relish the added pressure.
“I’m sure there’s a rise in expectations amongst supporters, but I’ve never been the kind of manager that tries to quell that and then overachieve,” he added.
“It’s dangerous to go about it that way, because if you don’t fulfil those expectations then people can get disappointed.
“We’ll give it our best shot. We’ll be positive and hopefully we can give the fans of this club something to really shout about.
“If we have a positive attitude then we could do really well this season.”
