Shaun Wright-Phillips has insisted there is more to come from Queens Park Rangers after their shock 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old scored the winner in the 78th minute with a long-range strike after the England international replaced Junior Hoilett in the first half.

QPR remain bottom of the table following the victory, but Harry Redknapp’s men are now only five points behind 17th-placed Southampton with 17 Premier League games remaining.

“From the fans, the players and the coaching staff, I think you’re going to see a lot more of that to come,” Wright-Phillips told QPR’s website.

“Whoever the 11 are that start, they’re going to put in the same effort every week and hopefully we will get the same rewards as we did last night.”

Wright-Phillips ended a run of 54 games without a goal before netting the winner at Stamford Bridge, and the former Chelsea man is hoping QPR build on the win.

“For us that game was a matter of belief,” he added.

“I thought the lads that started the game worked so hard. It was difficult for me to come into it off the bench but the boys spoke to me, we stuck at it and because we defended like we did it meant we were able to get the result we deserved.”

“Hopefully I can build from here, and the team can build from here as well.”

Next up for QPR is a FA Cup third-round clash against West Bromwich Albion before tough tests in the Premier League against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

“That result and performance shows we’ve got fight in us,” Wright-Phillips added.

“But we can’t let this result be a one-off. We’ve got to make sure we build on this and take that level of performance into the next set of fixtures.”
