Ray Wilkins: These are the signings Chelsea will make this summer
Ray Wilkins is tipping Chelsea to be quite busy in the summer transfer window ahead of a return to the Champions League

Ray Wilkins has revealed that he expects Chelsea to make “a few additions” in the summer transfer window as Antonio Conte prepares his side for a return to the Champions League.
The Blues have been the Premier League’s top performing team this season and currently boast a 10-point lead at the top of the table as they close in on winning the title in Conte’s first campaign in charge.
Chelsea did not make any signings in the January transfer window and the stage looks set for the Blues to bring in a number of players in the summer, according to former coach Wilkins.
Wilkins feels that the west London side are likely to want to bolster their defensive options and also provide cover up front for Diego Costa, should the striker leave Chelsea in the summer.
Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Thursday morning, Wilkins said: “They’ll be delighted to be in that Champions League, they would have missed it immensely this season.
“It really depends on Diego Costa, to a large degree, who they are going to get in to replace him if he decides to go to China, which has already been mooted this season.
“It will be very interesting, I’m sure Antonio will have a few names up his sleeve that he would like to bring in. Defensively they have spoken about bringing added players in.
“But at this moment in time they just need a few additions to keep themselves bubbling along – they are all young enough and they all look absolutely superb at the moment.”

Chelsea’s brilliant upturn in form this season has been in stark contrast to their struggles last season, when they ended up 10th and without a trophy.
The west London side return to Premier League action with a home clash against Crystal Palace after the international break.
