Real Madrid have offered 24-year-old to Chelsea FC, claims reporter
Duncan Castles claims that Mateo Kovavic has been offered to Chelsea FC ahead of Thursday's deadline

Real Madrid have offered Chelsea FC the chance to sign Mateo Kovacic as part of a deal for Thibaut Courtois, according to reporter Duncan Castles.
Courtois’ future at Stamford Bridge has been a constant source of speculation this summer, with the Belgian goalkeeper having been touted as a target for Real Madrid in the last few months.
The 26-year-old’s contract at Chelsea FC is set to expire at the end of next season, and the Blues are unlikely to want to risk losing him for free next year if he does not end up signing a new deal.
Real Madrid are believed to be the front-runners to sign the shot-stopper this summer, as some of the goalkeeper’s family are already living in the Spanish capital.
Now, Sunday Times reporter Castles is claiming that Real Madrid have offered Chelsea FC the chance to sign Croatia star Kovacic in order to speed up a deal for Courtois.
Castles told the Transfer Window podcast: “Kovacic has been offered to Chelsea to facilitate a deal for Courtois.
“What is questionable to me is whether Kovacic will do it. He has been scouted by Man City. From what I understand it is a live possibility this week.”
Any deal for Kovacic would have to be wrapped up before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Chelsea FC are looking to at least break back into the top four this season after they finished fifth and won the FA Cup under Antonio Conte last term.
