He deserves more credit! Ferdinand heaps praise on Man United’s Carrick
Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes Michael Carrrick deserves more credit for his contribution at Old Trafford

Rio Ferdinand says Michael Carrick is “valued highly” by Manchester United despite the midfielder being an unsung hero for the Red Devils.
The England international, 31, has been one of the driving forces behind United’s dominance domestically this season, with five assists in all competitions.
Carrick produced a stunning pass for Javier Hernández’s strike in a 2-2 draw with Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.
And Ferdinand believes the former Tottenham midfielder deserves more praise for his impact at the Red Devils.
“You wish players like that didn’t have to go through their careers searching for accolades,” said Ferdinand.
“You would like to think people would just give them out. That hasn’t been the case with Michael, which is unfortunate.
“No-one else could play a pass like he did for Javier’s goal. It has to be the ball of the season. But I am sure no-one will talk about it.
“It will be swept under the carpet and all the talk will be about other players who maybe do a little bit more explosive things than Michael does.
“He is laid-back and plays at his own pace, so he always goes unnoticed. But he is valued highly by each member of our squad, don’t worry about that.”
