Robin van Persie helped Manchester United close the gap on leaders Arsenal to five points as the Red Devils striker netted the winner in a 1-0 win at Old Trafford.

The Netherlands international guided a header past former team-mate Wojciech Szczesny in the 27th minute after a fantastic delivery from United’s man-of-the-match Wayne Rooney.
