We’ve passed the test! RVP thrilled with Man United’s festive form
Robin van Persie claims Manchester United have passed their first real test of the season during the hectic festive period

Robin van Persie believes Manchester United have passed their first real test of the season after emerging from the hectic festive period with their seven-point lead at the top of the table intact.
The Red Devils have won eight of their last nine Premier League games as they continue their bid to prise the title away from derby rivals Manchester City.
Van Persie, who has already netted an impressive 20 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions since joining United from Arsenal last summer, believes the festive schedule represents the first thorough examination of any side’s title credentials.
And the Dutchman feels United have laid down a marker for the rest of the season.
“December is always a difficult month and I feel we have come through this period as we wanted to,” Van Persie said. “Hopefully we can now push on for the rest of the season.”
Van Persie was voted player of the month for December by United’s supporters after his stunning start to life at Old Trafford.
And the Holland international admits he is thrilled to have settled in so quickly.
“It’s always nice to be recognised by the fans,” he said.
“I have settled into the club quite quickly and I am really enjoying playing in this team. I would like to thank the fans for all their support.
“It’s not all about scoring goals, but obviously that does help. It’s great that so many players have scored goals over the season so far.”
