Charlie Nicholas is backing Tottenham Hotspur to ease to a comfortable 2-0 win over Rochdale in the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday.

The Lilywhites will be in confident following a credible 2-2 draw with Serie A holders Juventus in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Tuesday night.

Goals from Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen overturned a 2-0 deficit to secure a vital draw with two away goals ahead of the return leg at Wembley on Wednesday 7 March.

Spurs are still waiting to get their hands on their first piece of silverware under lauded manager Mauricio Pochettino since the Argentinian coach took over the reins in 2014.

Tottenham required a replay to get past non league Newport in the fourth round and have been handed a trip to League One side Rochdale for a place in the quarter-finals.

Former Arsenal midfielder Nicholas is adamant that Tottenham will ease to a comfortable win over Rochdale in the FA Cup fifth round.

“I thought we were going have a good old gritty cup tie and then Rochdale decided to put down a new pitch,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.

“Mauricio Pochettino will make a good few changes because that show of mental strength in Juventus will have been a really draining experience.

Tottenham are in fifth place in the Premier League table but a point adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea FC in the race to secure a Champions League spot.

Spurs eased to successive home victories over Manchester United and Arsenal as well as a 2-2 stalemate with top-four rivals Liverpool FC at Anfield.
