Rooney, Neville and more: Twitter reacts as England down Switzerland
Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville both Tweet their thoughts as England beat Switzerland 2-0 in Basel

England kicked off their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign with an impressive 2-0 victory in Switzerland on Monday night.
After a goalless first half, Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck finished off a swift break to give the visitors a 59th-minute lead in Basel.
The 23-year-old forward then added a second in stoppage time with a cool finish as Roy Hodgson’s men sealed a deserved victory.
The game inevitably prompted plenty of activity on Twitter – and here are our favourite post-match updates.
QPR midfielder Joey Barton (@Joey7Barton) feels the result is the right one: “England arguably could have won 4-0 tonight and the Swiss couldn’t have felt aggrieved.”
England captain Wayne Rooney chimes in via his Instagram account: “Good @england team performance tonight and great to start our European campaign off with a win.”
Celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) is a happy man: “This is why I’ve been excited by the Welbeck signing. He’s got pace & power – and if he plays centre-forward he’ll score buckets of goals. Welbeck, Walcott, Ox, Alexis….there will be no quicker forward line in world football. All running onto Ozil’s passes. #mmmmmm #afc”
Former Bolton captain Kevin Davies (@Kevin__Davies) gives his post-match thoughts: “Good performance from the boys, yes Switzerland were pretty poor but step in the right direction. Delph decent, is Wilshere fully fit?”
Ex-England striker Michael Owen (@themichaelowen) is impressed: “A very decent start to the qualifying campaign. I’ll be reviewing the game with @reid6peter & Bryan Robson @Soccerex tomorrow #EngvSwi”
As is Spurs defender Kyle Walker (@kylewalker2): “Off to a great start. Solid performance #ENG”
QPR defender Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) is pleased: “Good result that for England. The Swiss really fancied they’d beat us too!”
Coach Gary Neville (@GNev2) gives his post-match verdict: “Well done to the lads- it’s always up/down with Eng to the extremes but I hope you can see that this is a young squad with potential to grow.”
And finally, ex-Arsenal man Ian Wright (@IanWright0) keeps it short and sweet: “COE !!!”
