Serge Gnabry admits it was a dream come true to score his first goal for Arsenal in Saturday’s win at Swansea.
The Germany Under-19 international netted the opener in the second half at the Liberty Stadium as the Gunners moved top of the table thanks to a 2-1 win.
And the 18-year-old, who has been filling in for the injured Theo Walcott on the right wing, was thrilled to notch up his first strike.
“Scoring my first goal for Arsenal is something amazing,” Gnabry told Arsenal Player.
“Everybody dreams of scoring for the first team and I’ve done that today so I’m very happy.
“I think my goal was the moment where we broke through and that gave us a lot of belief and a lot of momentum to think we can win the game.”
Gnabry also said that he feels at home with fellow Germans Per Mertesacker and Mesut Özil in the squad.
“It helps when you’ve got players from the same country speaking the same language. Especially for me as a young player, they talk to me a lot and I can learn a lot from them,” he said.
“It’s good for Arsenal having these good players in the team.”
