Simon Mignolet: More to Luis Suarez’s game than just goals
Simon Mignolet believes that Liverpool striker Luis Suárez deserves credit for the defensive side of his game

Simon Mignolet believes that Liverpool striker Luis Suarez deserves credit for the defensive side of his game – and not just his goals.
The Uruguay international has been in sensational form for the Reds this season and currently leads the Premier League goal-scoring charts with 23 goals to his game.
He is always helping the team out – not only attacking wise but also defensively

But goalkeeper Mignolet feels that the 27-year-old also deserves praise for his defensive work and high-energy pressing for the Merseysiders.
“Luis always works so hard for the team. Even when he doesn’t score, he still contributes,” Mignolet told the Liverpool Echo.
“He is always helping the team out – not only attacking wise but also defensively. He is the one who presses first and he’s the one who comes and defends at corners as well.”
The Belgium international also called on the Reds to stay “calm” ahead of their trip to Southampton at the weekend.
Liverpool are currently fourth in the Premier League table and six points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham.
“We are in a good position at the moment but with 11 games to go there are still a lot of things that can happen,” said Mignolet.
“We need to stay calm and just focus on our next game at Southampton. That’s going to be a very difficult game for us and we need to prepare well. We won’t be thinking about what’s happened against them in the past.
“We did our job against Swansea by getting the three points and winning at home like we have done so many times this season gives us a great platform to build on.
“Hopefully we can keep this run in the league going. We’re happy with where we are but there’s still a long way to go.”
