We’re in good shape! Sir Alex feeling confident about Man United’s chances
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes his side are in the "right shape" as the season reaches its climax

Sir Alex Ferguson believes Manchester United are in good shape as the Red Devils prepare for a season-defining period on both domestic and European fronts.
The Red Devils must keep their Premier League title tilt on track, while also looking to end their nine-year FA Cup drought, with a fifth-round clash against Reading on 18 February.
United also face a daunting Champions League last-16 clash against La Liga champions Real Madrid next week – but Ferguson is confident his players are ready for the imminent challenges.
“You hope that the players realise that the league is there for them [to win],” Ferguson told Inside United.
“It’s obviously a big challenge and we’ve got the FA Cup and the Champions League as well, and managing the squad is going to be important when it comes to picking the right teams. That’s down to myself and the staff.
“It’s always an important time. The players have shown great appetite for it – they showed that against Tottenham in the way they fought like hell to get a result and were unlucky it went against them at the end. But we’re definitely in the right shape.”
Ferguson is hoping United’s success on the road will prove significant as the Premier League title race reaches its conclusion.
The Red Devils have won at Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City this term, with their rivals Manchester City still facing daunting trips to Goodison Park, Spurs and Old Trafford.
“[In the league] you hope that the return we’ve had from the big games is going to be significant,” he added.
“We’ve won at Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and we were 30 seconds away from a really good result at Tottenham.
“All in all we’ve had a good return from these kinds of games and hopefully they will prove significant at the end of the season.”
