Sir Alex Ferguson was thrilled to see Wayne Rooney open the scoring for Manchester United in their 4-0 win over Reading in the FA Cup

Sir Alex Ferguson gave his seal of approval from the stands as he watched Wayne Rooney equal Sir Bobby Charlton’s goal-scoring record for Manchester United in the 4-0 FA Cup win over Reading at Old Trafford.
Rooney scored the opener in the seventh minute at Old Trafford as he set Manchester United on their way towards victory against the Championship side in the third-round clash.
Anthony Martial then doubled the home side’s lead in the 15th minute with a cool finish into the bottom-right corner to put Jose Mourinho’s men in control.
Marcus Rashford was impressive throughout and scored twice in the second half at Old Trafford to cement Manchester United’s place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
However, former Manchester United boss Ferguson looked to be thrilled as Rooney opened the scoring at Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime, if the photo above is anything to go by.

Manchester United’s victory was their eighth in a row in all competitions, marking their best run since Ferguson was in charge at Old Trafford back in 2009.
