Southampton 2 Tottenham 3: Tim Sherwood eyes permanent Spurs role
Southampton 2 Tottenham 3: Tim Sherwood stresses that he wants the Spurs job a long-term basis
Tim Sherwood stressed that he wants Tottenham Hotspur job on a long-term basis after masterminding his first win as caretaker boss at Southampton.
Emmanuel Adebayor cancelled out Adam Lallana’s 12th-minute opener before Jos Hooiveld’s own goal handed the visitors the lead before Rickie Lambert levelled.
I don’t want it for 10 minutes, I want it for long-term or not at all

However Togo international Adebayor, who has been brought back into the first-team after falling out-of-favour under sacked boss Andre Villas-Boas, netted the winner in the 64th minute.
And Sherwood insists he wants the job on a permanent basis or not at all.
“I never said I did or did not want the job. I need to speak to the chairman about how they want to take the club forward,” Sherwood told BBC Sport.
“That’ll happen sooner rather than later I hope, as these guys need a manager. Will I be in charge on Boxing Day? I don’t know.
“I don’t want it for 10 minutes, I want it for long-term or not at all.
“I really enjoyed it today but one swallow does not make a summer.
“I like to set teams up like that. There are no rules, there are different ways to win a football match. “You have to do what you believe.”
On Tottenham’s performance, Sherwood added: “You enjoy it when you win. I did not enjoy the first half, I thought we were poor.
“In the second half they took it on. We showed we have real quality. Emmanuel Adebayor has not been playing, so he did not require much motivating. You put him back in because of what he has done in history.”
