Stevenage 0 Everton 4: Roberto Martinez admits his side's FA Cup win was marred by the serious injury to Bryan Oviedo
Roberto Martinez admitted that Everton’s FA Cup win over Stevenage was marred by the serious injury to Bryan Oviedo.
The 23-year-old Costa Rica international was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg suffered while trying to block Simon Heslop’s shot in the 17th minute of the fourth-round cup tie.
We need to give Bryan as much support as we can now. He’s had a terrific season

Steven Naismith scored twice in the first half before Johnny Heitinga headed home at the far post and Magaye Gueye added a late fourth to complete a comfortable for Martinez’s side.
And Martinez admitted that the injury overshadowed a “professional” performance from his Toffees side.
“It’s a real negative and an unfortunate incident. Those incidents give you a bad taste,” Martinez told BT Sport.
“We need to give Bryan as much support as we can now. He’s had a terrific season, I’ve been so impressed by his level and he’s a really important player in the group.”
The Spaniard continued: “It was a professional performance. We always looked a threat on the counter and a threat in front of goal. It was as good as it gets really in terms of a performance.
“It was a really good cup game. The incident with Bryan obviously affected everyone, but overall it was a proper cup tie and a really professional performance from our point of view.”
