Swansea’s Michu hopes to be a ‘better player’ next season
Swansea City striker Michu says he hopes to be a "better player" next season despite an impressive debut campaign in England

Michu says he wants to a “better player” next season despite the Swansea City striker’s impressive debut campaign in the Premier League.
The 27-year-old scored 18 goals in 35 top-flight appearances after completing a £2m move to the Welsh side from Rayo Vallecano in July.
Michu, who count himself unlucky to have missed out on a PFA player of the year nomination, scored in February’s 5-0 league cup final victory over Bradford City as the Swans lifted their first-ever major trophy.
The Spaniard, who is yet to be capped by his national side, admits he will struggle to match his 2012-13 tally, but hopes Michael Laudrup will make new signings to ease the pressure on his shoulders.
“I hope I will be a better player next season,” Michu told Wales Online.
“It will be difficult to score that many goals again but I hope to do that.
“The club will sign new strikers in the summer. I prefer to play behind the striker but, if the gaffer asks me to play anywhere, I’ll play there.
Michu added: “My team-mates next year will score as well so there won’t be too much pressure on me.”
