Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Swansea v Tottenham
The Liverpool FC legend is backing Tottenham Hotspur to edge to victory over Swansea City on Saturday

Mark Lawrenson is backing Tottenham Hotspur to edge past Swansea City in the FA Cup quarter-finals after extra time at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Spurs are looking to win their first trophy under Mauricio Pochettino after the Argentinian coach swapped Southampton for Tottenham back in 2014.
Pochettino’s side suffered a disappointing 2-1 loss to Serie A giants Juventus at Wembley last week to crash out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage.
Tottenham lost 4-2 to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup semi-finals last season to miss out on the chance to take on their bitter rivals Arsenal in the Wembley showpiece.
Spurs will make the trip to South Wales in Saturday’s early kick-off to take on a resurgent Swansea side under Carlos Carvohal.
Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson believes Tottenham will beat Swansea in the FA Cup after extra time at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
“This is probably a more important game for Pochettino than it would have been following Tottenham’s exit from the Champions League and I would expect him to go with a strong line-up, especially as we are heading into an international break,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“But Swansea will not make it easy for them and I think they will go the distance in this tie.
“There are no replays now we are into the FA Cup quarter-finals so it will be decided on the day, and I think Spurs will edge it – just.”
Tottenham finished in third place in the Premier League table in 2015-16 before Spurs ended up in runners-up spot behind champions Chelsea FC last term.
The north London side are in third spot in the English top flight but four points behind Manchester United.
Harry Kane has scored 24 goals in the Premier League this season.
