Thibaut Courtois has urged his Chelsea team-mate not to contemplate losing against Manchester City on Wednesday night.
The Belgium international was unable to prevent the Premier League leaders from losing 2-1 to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Cesc Fabregas broke the deadlock in the fifth minute before Wilfried Zaha and Christian Benteke scored in the ninth and eleventh minute to overturn the deficit.
Chelsea were unable to conjure an equaliser as Antonio Conte’s succumbed to just their second defeat in 23 games in the Premier League.
The west London side are seven points clear of their closest rivals Tottenham Hotspur after Spurs were 2-0 winners against Burnley at the weekend.
Speaking to Chelsea’s website ahead of the visit of Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night, Courtois said:
“It’s important to win on Wednesday. Spurs will be hoping we lose again so they can close the gap to four points, but we will start working again.
“We know what we are doing, we don’t need to think about losing again, we just need to focus and try to win the game on Wednesday.”
