Thierry Henry believes that Arsene Wenger is finally starting to prove Arsenal’s critics wrong this season.
The Frenchman has come in for plenty of criticism in recent seasons following the Gunners’ failure to win a major trophy since their FA Cup triumph back in 2005.
This year Wenger is showing everybody that Arsenal can compete again

But Henry, who is Arsenal’s all-time leading goal-scorer, feels that the north London club’s positive start to the season will go some way to silencing his detractors.
“He has said it himself, when you don’t win trophies obviously people are going to talk and obviously people are going to say he’s not the man for the job any more,” Henry told Sky Sports.
“I think Arsene himself understood that. When you don’t have something to show at the end of the season it is difficult to talk and to stop all of the critics.
“But this year he is showing everybody that Arsenal can compete again.”
The former France international also believes that Arsenal’s club-record signing of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid has already paid dividends this season.
“When you look at him [Ozil] playing when he has the ball it seems like he has all the time in the world – and I can tell you for a fact it’s not that easy,” Henry continued.
“He paid the price to have a player like Ozil, but I think that right now it’s showing that it’s worth it and hopefully in the end it will show more.”
