Thierry Henry explains why he’s very excited about new Arsenal signing
Thierry Henry is tipping Pierre-Emerick Aubameyan to strike up a quick understanding with Henrikh Mkhitaryan at Arsenal
Thierry Henry has admitted that he is excited about the prospect of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang lining up with his former Borussia Dortmund team-mate Henrikh Mkhitaryan at Arsenal.
The 28-year-old finally completed his transfer to the north London club from Dortmund on Wednesday after days of speculation linking him with a switch to The Emirates.
Aubameyang follows his former Dortmund team-mate Mkhitaryan to The Emirates and the Gunners will be hoping to see the Gabon star develop an instant understanding with the Armenian.
And former Arsenal striker Henry has admitted that he cannot wait to see the pair line up together once again but this time in an Arsenal shirt.
Speaking to Sky Sports News on Wednesday, Henry said: “I hope that’s what they were thinking about, Arsenal.
“Aubameyang played with Mkhitaryan so they know about each other and how they play and go about it.
“I think it’s a great thing that you can have two guys coming from two different clubs that have already played with each other and they know each other really well.”
Aubameyang could be in line to make his Premier League debut for Arsenal when the Gunners host Everton at The Emirates on Saturday evening.
The north London side will be desperately aiming to get back to winning ways in the Premier League after the disappointment of their 3-1 loss to Swansea City in midweek.
That result left Arsene Wenger’s men eight points adrift of the top four as they chase Champions League qualification this season after missing out last term.
