Thierry Henry admits he has been impressed with France and Monaco teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe’s maturity.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the newly-capped France international after the 18-year-old’s impressive performances in the Champions League and Ligue 1 in the 2016-17 campaign.
Indeed, Mbappe caught the attention of the Premier League after the promising striker scored in both legs of Monaco’s 12-goal thriller against Manchester City in the Champions League last 16.
The 18-year-old centre-forward has scored 19 goals and has made five assists in 32 games in all competitions for Ligue 1 leaders Monaco this season.
Henry started his career at Monaco before the forward established himself as a Premier League legend thanks to his goal-scoring heroics at Arsenal.
Former France striker Henry was impressed with Mbappe’s attitude after the Arsenal legend had the chance to meet Mbappe.
“I don’t like comparing players. Mbappe has to become Mbappe. And that’s all,” Henry told Canal Plus.
“But my word, he is good. Ooh la la. I met him, and he gave me the impression that he has a good head on his shoulders. l really like watching him play. He thinks.
“There’s a thing that annoys me sometimes. We talk about players, ‘He’s quick, he’s strong, he can jump high’. We never talk about players’ brains and that annoys me.”
