Vermaelen urges Arsenal to stay focused ahead of Everton clash
Thomas Vermaelen challenges Arsenal to continue their winning run by beating Everton and maintaining their top-four push

Thomas Vermaelen has challenged Arsenal to continue their winning run by beating Everton on Tuesday and consolidating their position in the table.
The Gunners mounted a dramatic late comeback at Emirates Stadium on Saturday to beat Norwich City 3-1 and move up into third place in the Premier League table.
That victory was Arsenal’s fourth straight win in the Premier League – and Vermaelen is keen for the north Londoners to continue their run against the Toffees.
“I think we’re on a run now,” Vermaelen told Arsenal Player. “We’ve got a good momentum at the moment. We’re winning a lot of games.
“Tuesday is an important game again so we have to keep fighting and try to get three points.”
The Arsenal captain, who returned to the starting line-up for Saturday’s game, praised the Gunners’ battling spirit after six goals in six minutes swung the match in the hosts’ favour against the Canaries.
“We were the better team overall,” he added. “I think we put them under pressure really well in the first half but we didn’t create a lot of chances.
“In the second half we conceded a goal and we’ve shown before that we always fight back. You could see that today and we scored three good goals at the end. We came back really strong.”
