Timothy Fosu-Mensah hints he wants to see this player at Man United next season
Timothy Fosu-Mensah explains why he is such a big admirer of Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick
Timothy Fosu-Mensah has suggested that he wants Manchester United to offer Michael Carrick a new contract after revealing his admiration for the English midfielder.
The veteran midfielder has earned praise for his performances for the Red Devils this season whenever called upon by Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho made tying down Carrick to a new one-year contract one of his first priorities following his arrival at Old Trafford last summer.
There is yet to be any official announcement as to whether Carrick will be offered a new deal at Old Trafford beyond the summer.
The 35-year-old has made 13 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils this season to help Mourinho’s men up to fifth place in the table as they chase Champions League qualification.
And Manchester United starlet Fosu-Mensah has hinted that he would love to see Carrick stay at Old Trafford beyond the summer by revealing that he looks up to the experienced midfielder.
Asked about which attributes of Manchester United’s players he would like to possess, Fosu-Mensah told the club’s website: “Well, not a trick but the understanding of the game that Michael [Carrick] has.
“I would love to add this to my game. I think it comes with age and experience, though.”
