Tottenham boss AVB delivers Aaron Lennon injury update
Andre Villas-Boas has revealed his delight at seeing Aaron Lennon return to full Tottenham training following his spell on the sidelines

Andre Villas-Boas has revealed his delight at seeing Aaron Lennon return to full Tottenham training following his recent spell on the sidelines.
The winger has not featured for Spurs since picking up a foot injury during the north Londoners’ opening-day win over Crystal Palace.
However, the 26-year-old is on course to return to full fitness after training with Spurs’ first team this week.
“I’m extremely happy, it’s been a long time out for a player of Aaron’s importance and the team is delighted with his return,” Villas-Boas told Spurs’ website.
“He’s proved year after year how important he is for us and to have him back is a major plus.”
Asked whether Lennon could be available for Spurs’ trip to Aston Villa on 20 October, Villas-Boas added: “Let’s see how he works on the international break.
“He has kept his fitness very high with our medical department.”
Spurs will look to return to winning ways when they travel to Villa Park following their surprise 3-0 home defeat by West Ham United on Sunday.
And Villas-Boas called on his side to respond to the comprehensive loss when they return to action later this month.
“It’s a wake up call that we have to react to, we have to bounce back and I trust the team to do that,” he said. “I think we can’t undermine what we have been doing up to now.
“Obviously it’s a defeat. Had we won this game we would have been just one point behind.
“It’s something we don’t like, but we have to put into perspective of what we’ve done before.”
