Tottenham keen to sign FC Barcelona playmaker – report
Tottenham Hotspur are keen on a move to sign Philippe Coutinho from FC Barcelona this summer, say reports

Tottenham Hotspur are keen to sign Philippe Coutinho from FC Barcelona this summer, according to reports in the British media.
ESPN is reporting that Spurs are targeting a deal for the 27-year-old Brazil international, and that their north London rivals Arsenal have “no interest” in the former Liverpool FC man.
The same story says that Coutinho has been offered to both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur – and although the Red Devils have not ruled out a move, Tottenham remains a more likely destination.
Coutinho’s future has been something of a source of uncertainty this summer following his lack of playing time at FC Barcelona last term.
The playmaker started just 22 La Liga games and only managed to score five goals for the Catalan club last season.
The same article points out that Coutinho played under Mauricio Pochettino at Espanyol and maintains a good relationship with the Tottenham manager.
However, despite the reports of a move to Spurs, the same article cites an unnamed source as saying that Coutinho’s chances of a move back to England this summer are “low” but not impossible.
Tottenham will kick off their Premier League campaign with a home clash against Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.
